Fire Safety Competition

Well done to James for winning the Fire Safety Poster Competition! Last week was fire safety week and we all designed fire safety posters. Well done also to the runners up; Emma and Daniel. 

Halloween Maths Assessment

This week we have been doing our Halloween Maths Assessment. All the children do the assessment at the end of each term to show how much they have learned!

Carving a Pumpkin

Today we carved a pumpkin. We wrote down instructions as we worked to practice procedural writing. 

Gold Card Award

Congratulations to all the boys and girls in room 9 for winning the gold card award for lining up at break time. Well done! 

Crests

Last week for our art lesson, we designed out own personal crests. We divided our crests into four parts. Each section represented a different part of our lives. School, sport, family and dancing were some of the interests the children decided to include on their crests. 

Well Done Aoife!

Aoife competed in a dancing competition in Trabolgan over the weekend. She brought in three trophies she won to show the class today. Well done Aoife! 

Tricky Word Wall

Here are the 72 Tricky Words that we have been learning and revising for the past few weeks. Knowing these words is really important for reading; especially when we move onto the green readers later in the year. Keep practicing every night boys and girls!!

Kandinsky Circles

Last week we were looking at the work of the Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky painted abstract paintings using lots of bright colours. We focused on his 'Squares and Concentric Circles' piece. Have a look at the pictures below!

Kilkenny are playing against Tipperary in the replay of the All Ireland Hurling Final on Saturday.

The class is evenly split on where their loyalties lie!

The boys and girls won the Gold Card trophy this week . . . for the second time in a row!

Gold Card Award

Well done to everyone in the class! Last week our class was awarded the gold card award. The gold card trophy is presented to the class who collect the most gold cards during the week for standing in the best line at break times. Mr. Forristal is very proud of everyone in the class! 😊
