Maths Stations

Every Thursday, Mrs Heffernan comes into our classroom after lunch and we do maths stations. This week we did clocks, subtraction bingo, addition card games, addition and subtraction board games and sums on mini whiteboards.
We love maths in room 9!

Comórtas Seanfhocail.

Rinne gach duine pictiúr álainn. Bhuaigh James. Bhí Seán sa dara háit agus Emma sa tríú háit. Comhghairdeas.

World Book Day

Today we celebrated World Book Day in school.
We dressed up in some fantastic book related costumes. Farmers, wolves, Puss in Boots, fairies, moody Judys and lots of others were in attendance in room 9 today! Well done to Cian who won the best costume competition in the class for his excellent home made Fantastic Mr Fox costume!
We also brought our own books into school and we read for fifteen minutes at 11am.

Shared Reading

This Thursday is World Book Day and we are doing reading related activities all week.
The Shared Reading Program began on Monday and I hope it will continue long after this week!

These are the record cards that are to be filled out when a book is completed.
Here are our Shared Reading areas. When a child finishes a book, they put a sticker beside their name.
The children store the cards in the envelopes when they have completed a book.
Certificates and prizes will be awarded when children read 7, 14, and 21 books. Children will get a chance to spin the wheel at each milestone!

Library Visit

Today we went on an exciting trip to Balbriggan Library! We walked down in the morning. Once we got inside, the librarian told us all about the library! We had a great time and learned loads!
Remember the library is free to join and it's free to borrow books!
Thanks to the parents who accompanied us on our trip!
